The Mystery at Hilton Head Island tells the story of Mimi, the mystery book writing grandmother, and four of her grandchildren as they boat over to Hilton Head Island, and discover a mystery connected to the Sea Pines lighthouse. As always, the kids are eager to keep their grandmother busy writing so that they can go and solve the mystery on their own. A helpful Island Packet reporter works just fine in this tale. As usual, things are not quite what they seem, there are twists and turns, red herrings, lots of clues, and a convoluted chase or two before the kids actually discover Harbour Town Lighthouse which might be haunted... end up in the middle of a Plaid Attack... befriend a Marsh Tacky... and go on a scavenger hunt of clues to solve a mystery by the light of the full moon!
Like all of Carole Marsh Mysteries, The Mystery on Hilton Head Island incorporates history, geography, culture and cliffhanger chapters that will keep kids begging for more! This mystery includes SAT words, educational facts, fun and humor, built-in book club and activities.
