1. How long have you been teaching? 10 years

2. What inspired you to pursue a career in education?
I've always loved "playing teacher" with my sister as kids, and I always loved being the "teacher's helper." I see teaching as a rewarding experience where you are a part of changing and molding a small part of students' lives. After working in retail for almost 10 years and having two children, I desired to have a career in which I could spend more time with my children and be a lifelong learner.

3. What is your favorite thing about teaching or your biggest success story?
My favorite thing about teaching is learning! I have a passion for learning new things and finding ways to make learning fun and meaningful for my students. There is never a dull moment in teaching!

4. What challenges do you face in the classroom?
Teaching all subjects in 5th grade can be challenging, although it does make me well versed with the standards and curriculum. However, the time given to teach all subjects can be complicated as there is little time in the day to get it all done.

5. How do Gallopade products or Gallopade Curriculum help you in the classroom?
Gallopade Curriculum is one of the best resources I have encountered! The pictures, projects, videos, Clickbook assignments, and end-of-chapter tests make the students more interested in learning more about social studies. They are interactive and keep them interested. Also, I love how the curriculum integrates with reading skills and standards, which enhances comprehension skills. I really do not need new resources in social studies!

6. What is something that every student should know about teachers?
In order to maximize your learning, students must be willing participants. Many teachers are doing the best they can with what we are given. We do want much success for our students.

7. What advice would you impart to a new teacher or someone who wants to become a teacher?
There is always work to do and never enough time; therefore, try your best to balance and take care of yourself. Your health and well-being matter.

8. What do you love to do when you're not teaching?
Spending time with my family, going to the beach, and being a fitness instructor while dancing it out with my workout friends.
